Fun Friday Recipe: Chocolate Chickpea Blender Bites
Not every healthy recipe has to be serious.
Sometimes you just want something fun.
Something easy.
Something chocolatey.
Something that feels like a treat without turning into a full sugar crash.
That is where these Chocolate Chickpea Blender Bites come in.
They are simple, soft, lightly sweet, and made with ingredients that bring a little more substance than your average dessert snack. They are also a nice reminder that healthy food can still be enjoyable, playful, and satisfying.
Why I like recipes like this
I think one reason people burn out with healthy eating is because everything starts to feel too rigid.
Too many rules.
Too much pressure.
Too much bland food pretending to be exciting.
That does not last.
A healthier lifestyle has to include foods that are enjoyable too. Not fake enjoyable. Actually enjoyable.
These little bites are easy to make, easy to portion, and nice to keep in the fridge when you want something sweet but not out of control.

Chocolate Chickpea Blender Bites
Makes
10 to 12 bites
Ingredients
- 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons nut butter
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 to 2 tablespoons almond meal if needed for texture
Instructions
- Add the chickpeas, oats, nut butter, cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt to a food processor or blender.
- Blend until mostly smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- If the mixture feels too soft, add a little almond meal until it is easier to scoop.
- Roll into small bite-sized balls.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Optional add-ins
You can also add:
- chopped walnuts
- shredded coconut
- cinnamon
- a spoonful of flax meal
- a little espresso powder for deeper chocolate flavor

A few reasons these work
Chickpeas might sound unusual in a sweet recipe, but they actually work well because they create a soft texture and add a little staying power. Paired with oats, cocoa, and nut butter, they turn into a snack that feels more balanced than a standard dessert.
They are not supposed to taste like a bakery brownie.
They are supposed to be a fun healthy bite that still satisfies.
That is a better expectation and a better result.
Final thought
Healthy eating should not feel like punishment.
A fun recipe like this can be a great reminder that simple ingredients can still create something satisfying, enjoyable, and worth repeating.
And honestly, having a healthier sweet option ready to go can help prevent a lot of random snacking decisions later.
That is a win.
